There’s no point looking further into a service if you just don’t have the budget available.
But while the question ‘how much will a website cost me’ may seem like an easy question to answer, it really isn’t.
Each and every website I develop and build is unique and specific to my client’s needs – as is the amount of time I spend developing their intended outcome.
For instance, not every website needs an online store, a blog, an integrated mailing list, a membership portal, a knowledge base or 50 different pages. Additionally, not every online store has hundreds of different products with complex variations. But some do.
For this reason, the basic packages I’ve outlined below are based only on the average costs of prior websites I have built.
Please be aware that the actual price for your site may vary so the below represents only a ballpark figure for you to roughly budget around.
Another major consideration to keep in mind when comparing pricing is the difference between a website on a hosted platform like Shopify and a custom-built, custom-hosted WordPress website designed and developed especially for you. The number one difference is you will actually own your WordPress website and can move it anywhere you like if ever desired. A second big difference is you won’t lose up to 3% of every sale like many hosted platforms charge – your costs for hosting and initial setup are usually all you will need to factor into your budget. And thirdly, when comparing monthly fees for a hosted website service, keep in mind that every additional feature will add another ‘small’ regular monthly cost AND the pricing does not take into account the many, MANY hours of initial setup and ongoing maintenance.

Daily Website Monitoring (payable monthly)
This includes security updates, weekly external data backup, monitoring of firewall and illegal access attempts and priority action to safeguard your website in the event of a brute-force website attack.
Website Maintenance (on-call or occasional)
Includes regular editing of website content, addition of new pages, new plugins or other additions, diagnosing and fixing website issues and other specific issues.
Copywriting
Includes copy for landing pages, email campaigns, downloadable or printed materials and more.
Custom Content Creation
Basic generic content and professional editing of content you supply is included within my standard packages, but if you prefer expertly written content – specially crafted for your business and industry – I offer this service at my standard hourly rate. I can also offer a special bulk-pricing quotation if you would like all your website’s content created and crafted especially for your needs.
Search Engine Optimisation
To assist in gaining increased search traffic for your website, I can research the most popular search terms for your industry and ensure this is expertly and naturally inserted throughout your website pages and block posts to gain greater visibility for your website and higher search engine rankings.
This information can also be used by you to use more effective hashtags and descriptions in your social media and other online marketing.
I can also create new content for your website to integrate this SEO research and ensure your website is more easily found in searches.
Editing & Proofreading
Available for a wide-range of written materials.
Logo & Graphic Design
Includes creation of a basic professional logo or other graphics aligned with your unique business image. Once you have approved your final design, you will receive your logo and graphic files in multiple different formats and sizes (for web and print uses), along with the original source file
Pre-paid Priority Website Support Time
You can pre-purchase blocks of priority support/maintenance time at special rates, to be used whenever and however you choose (unused time doesn't expire).
